Brooke's Family History....

Hello Everyone, :)
Thank you for visiting Brooke's Blog!
The reason for this blog is to explain my family situation and learn more about them and there experiences. I am a very intelligent, eighth grade girl with a lot of talents. One of my favorite academic classes is my American History class. Mrs. Mckee is the best Social Studies teacher I've ever had which makes her class all the more better. Our first challenging project of the year, is the Museum Of Us Night. During this night, my class has to present a bunch of different things about our family. For example, we started out with a white sheet of paper with a bunch of lines on it which we call a family tree. The first decision I made was to call Mamaw and Papaw. They are the smartest people I know and they can help with anything! For Homework, our duty was to go as far back as possible in our family line and name the birth, marriage, hometown of the people we were writing on our Family Tree. We started with me and went back to Papaw and then his mom and dad and their mom and dad and so on and so on. I got to speak with Mamaw and we did the same exact thing, as far back as she could clearly remember. After my conversation with them, I called Grandma Etta. She knows everything and I love her very much. We spoke about what I had already and then as for the other b lanks, she helped me fill the majority of them in so that my basically white, blank sheet of paper was now completely covered in my handwriting. Mrs. Mckee was very pleased with what I had to offer. As for the next issue, we needed to gather a family story that had been passed down through generations and basically had been known as the "Family Legend". Also, we were expected to collect a family recipe from our relative's that was a Family Favorite. We all know that I chose "Mamaw's Famous Oatmeal." I mean, how could you not? I think thw Museum Of Us night is October, 20 this year. With that being said... There is a fun expirement part to this whole project. The night of this upcoming event, we get to take our family recipe's to school and make them for people to test while observing my exhibits. Last week, our assignment was to pick a primary source by document and then also a family photo or portrait. I will continue to post some of my exhibits, videos, photos and comments from parents and teachers throuhout the month. Most likely th photos by the first week of November. I would just like to say a huge thanks to my family for supporting me in this project and that I love you all so much! :]
